Chelated cobalt for use in animal feeds as a source of dietary cobalt and to aid in the prevention of cobalt deficiency syndromes.

25 g / kg cobalt as a vegetable proteinate.

Directions

BIOPLEX™ COBALT contains 25 g / kg of cobalt for use in manufacturing livestock rations where the inclusion of cobalt as an organic chelate is desirable. The precise dietary requirement will be dependent on the composition of the feed and the particular animal species involved. To ensure optimum animal performance BEC recommends that a professional animal nutritionist is consulted when formulating animal rations.

FUNCTION

Cobalt is an integral component of vitamin B12 and as such is an essential factor in the formation of red blood cells. The microflora of ruminants utilise cobalt in the synthesis of vitamin B12.

DEFICIENCY

Deficiency of cobalt / vitamin B12 may cause anaemia, weight loss / emaciation, rough coats, scaliness of skin, low milk production and reduced reproductive function.
