Soybean Meal
Indications
Soybeans are grown for both seed production, oil extraction and protein
meal production. After the oil is extracted the meal left behind can contain
up to 50% protein.
Local Australian Soybean meal is a pre-pressed solvent extracted meal
or expeller.
Australia does import Soybean meals from the USA and South America
both of which are solvent extracted.

Directions for use
Use as directed by your Consultant Nutritionist.
Soybean meal is an excellent source of protein and can be used in all
age diets for poultry, pig, cattle and equine feeds.
While soybean meal does have a trypsin inhibitor, this is destroyed
in the processing and is of no concern to the livestock being fed.
Suggested inclusion levels are as follows:
Pigs Creep and Weaner up to 10%
Pigs Grower and Breeder up to 20%
Poultry diets up to 20%
Cattle Sheep and Equine diets up to 20%
Discussion
The minimum quality standard of Soybean meal shall conform to the Australian
Oilseed Federation Standard
and the FSANZ Food Standards Code and the relevant State Health Acts
Appearance: A mixture of irregular small free flowing particles
Colour: Yellow and Cream granular flakes
Odour: Clean, fresh bean like, free of any musty or sour odours.
Bulk Density : 590 g/l
Grind Size: Maximum 2% on a 3mm screen, and maximum 10% on 2mm screen.

Store in a cool dry place. Store out of direct sunlight.
